Dante

DANTE is a first-person exploration puzzle made for the js13kGames competition, where every entry has to fit in 13 kilobytes. You wake as a lost soul on a small island in the underworld and have to find a way to leave. The island is a handful of connected areas, and progress means finding levers, keys and gates in the right order.

Along the way you meet the other souls trapped there, each with a short epitaph that hints at the puzzle around them. The whole game is a few minutes long once you know the route, and the pleasure is in how much world and story fit into the size limit.

How to play Dante?

Read every soul's message; the hints are literal. If a door will not open, look for a lever you have already passed, and check whether you are holding a key. The island loops back on itself, so a dead end usually means an earlier switch, not a hidden path.

Controls

Desktop: W, A, S, D or the arrow keys to move, mouse to look, E or click to use levers and pick things up.

Dante unblocked

Dante runs right here in the browser with nothing to install, so it plays on school Chromebooks and other locked-down networks.
