Perfect Shape is a race down a road that keeps changing what it is made of, and you keep changing to match it. One second you are a car on tarmac, then the road becomes water and you need to be a boat, then it stops being a road at all and you need to be a helicopter, then it turns into a wall of rock and you need to be a drill.
The signs above the track tell you what is coming. Each shape has an icon and the game posts it ahead of the section it belongs to, so the skill is reading the run early and committing to the change before you arrive rather than reacting once you are already in the wrong thing. Pick wrong and the terrain stops you dead.
There is a stickman form for stairs and tight ground, a car for road, a boat for water, a helicopter for the gaps, a drill for rock, plus a motorbike, a train, a snowmobile and a glider across the level set. The build keeps its levels in separate bundles that load as you unlock them, running from the first pair up through the twenties, so it does not all arrive at once and the early levels start fast.
You are not alone on the road. There are rival racers running the same track, and beating them to the finish block matters as much as surviving the terrain, which stops the shape switching from being a pure reaction test and adds a bit of pressure to every hesitation.
Coins come out of good runs and go into a shop, where there are hats and colours to unlock for your character. There are also speed boosts and destructible obstacles along the track, so a clean run and a messy one look quite different by the end.
It is bright, cartoonish and forgiving, and it restarts instantly, which makes it one of the better ones on the site for a short gap between other things.
How to play Perfect Shape?
Watch the icons ahead of you and switch into the shape the next stretch of ground needs. Road wants the car, water wants the boat, a gap wants the helicopter, rock wants the drill, stairs want the runner. Change early rather than exactly on the line, because the swap is not instant. Grab the boosters, avoid the obstacles you cannot break, and try to cross the finish ahead of the other racers rather than just reaching it.
Controls
Everything is done by clicking or tapping. You pick your shape from the buttons on screen, and on a phone or tablet it is exactly the same with taps. Nothing important is bound to the keyboard, so it plays the same on a trackpad as it does on a mouse.
