Hole.io puts you in control of a black hole sliding around a city. Anything smaller than you falls in: mailboxes and fire hydrants at first, then cars, trees, and eventually whole buildings once you have grown enough. The more you swallow, the bigger you get, and the bigger you get, the more of the map becomes food. It is a simple loop, and it is weirdly hard to stop once the hole starts getting large.
The main mode is a timed battle. You share the city with rival holes that grow at the same rate you do, and when the clock runs out the biggest hole wins. Early on it pays to stay away from the others and quietly clean up small objects; later, when you are large enough, you can swallow smaller rivals whole and take their progress with them. Getting eaten yourself is the fastest way to lose a round.
Beyond battles, this version includes a team battle, a level mode where you clear a city stage by stage against a target, and a free play option for when you just want to watch skyscrapers disappear without a clock. Power-ups and boosters give you a temporary edge, like faster movement or a sudden growth spurt, and they are worth grabbing whenever they appear.
Playing well is mostly about routing. Every object has a size, and wasting time bumping into things that are still too big for you is time a rival spends growing. A good round moves through the city in expanding circles, taking everything at your current size before moving on to the next tier.
Everything you do feeds a progression system with skins for your hole, milestones, and a leaderboard, so there is always a next thing to chase after the round ends. It is one of the most instantly readable arcade games around: you can explain it in a sentence, and a first-time player is competing within seconds.

Slide your hole over anything that fits and it drops in. Start with the small stuff, grow, then work up to cars, trees and buildings. In battle mode, keep an eye on the timer and the size of the other holes: avoid anyone bigger than you and hunt anyone smaller. Grab power-ups when you see them, and finish the round with the biggest hole on the map.
