Moto Trap looks like an ordinary side-on bike game for about ten seconds. You ride right, the ground rolls under you, and then the level does something it had no business doing: a block drops, the floor vanishes, a spike comes out of nowhere and your rider folds up like a deck chair.

That is the whole joke, and it is a good one. Every stage hides at least one trap that only exists to catch you the first time you ride through it. Dying is not really a failure state here, it is how you learn where the trap was, and the ragdoll physics make each wipeout worth watching.

The riding underneath the gags is real, though. The bike is physics-driven, so you have to balance it in the air, keep the front wheel from digging in on a landing and manage speed into a jump. Knowing where a trap is does not save you if you arrive at it going far too fast.

Stages are short and restarts are instant, which is what makes it work. You are never more than a few seconds from the checkpoint, so the natural rhythm is ride, get caught, laugh, try the same bit again with the trap in mind.

There are several worlds to work through, each with its own set of surprises, and the traps get less predictable the further in you go. Early ones are obvious in hindsight; later ones will fire twice in the same stage just to be sure you did not relax.

How to play Moto Trap?

Get to the end of the stage without crashing. Ride at a speed you can react at rather than flat out, especially the first time through a level, since most traps trigger from your position and not from a timer. In the air, tilt back to bring the front wheel up and tilt forward to drop it, and try to land with both wheels level. When something obviously suspicious appears, like a floating block or a stretch of clean empty floor, treat it as a trap, because it usually is.

Controls

W or the up arrow to accelerate, S or the down arrow to brake and reverse, and A and D or the left and right arrows to lean the bike backwards and forwards. On phones and tablets, on-screen buttons do the same thing.
