Retro Bowl

Retro Bowl is a pixel-art American football game where you coach and quarterback at the same time. On the field you pick a play, then on passes you drag back from the ball to set direction and power and release to throw, watching the receiver's route develop. On runs you click the blue circle to take control and dodge tacklers. Kicks are a click-timing bar for power and direction.

Off the field is the half of the game that keeps people playing: a roster with salaries and morale, a draft and free agents, staff to hire, facilities to upgrade and a press room where your answers move morale. Seasons run to the Retro Bowl itself, and the franchise carries on afterwards.

How to play Retro Bowl?

Throw to the receiver with space in front of him, not the open one; the ball leads. Use short passes early in a drive and save deep shots for single coverage. Spend money on the defensive coordinator and the training facility before star players; morale wins more games than one contract.

Controls

Desktop: the mouse picks plays, drags and holds to aim a pass, clicks the blue circle on runs and clicks to time kicks. Dodge with W and S, or swipe on a touch screen.
